Questions about converting a page
Why would I turn a web page into a PDF?
Because online terms change without notice. A PDF is a record of what you actually agreed to on the day you agreed to it, which is the version that matters if there is ever a dispute.
Will it look exactly like the page in my browser?
No. The page is rendered as a document rather than photographed: its text, headings, lists and tables are laid out on A4, and its stylesheet and images are not fetched. That keeps the wording — the part worth keeping — and drops the layout built for a screen.
Can I convert a page behind a login?
No. The page is fetched by our server, which has no access to your session, so anything requiring a login comes back as an error. Save the page from your browser and use HTML to PDF instead.
Can I point it at an address on my own network?
No, and deliberately so. Every address is resolved before the connection and anything on a private or internal network is refused, including through a redirect. A tool that fetches whatever it is told to is a way into the network it runs in.
Is the page stored?
No. It is fetched, rendered, and handed straight back to your browser. Nothing is written to disk or to a database, and there is no account to tie it to.
