Why use LegalValidate for pdf to txt

The words, nothing else

No layout, no styling — just the text, ready to search, diff or paste.

Compare two versions

Plain text is what a diff tool needs to show what changed between drafts.

Goes anywhere

A .txt file opens in everything, including tools that refuse PDFs.

Instant

Reading a text layer takes no time at all.

When you need this

  • You need to diff two versions of a contract.
  • A clause has to be pasted into an email or a ticket.
  • The text is going into a template or a script.
  • You want to search a long agreement quickly.

What this tool will not do

  • A scanned PDF has no text layer, so the result is empty — make it searchable first.
  • Tables lose their structure; use PDF to Excel or PDF to CSV for those.
  • Formatting, headings and page breaks are not preserved by design.

PDF to TXT — questions

Why is my file empty? +

Almost always because the PDF is a scan. Run Make PDF Searchable first, then convert.

What about tables? +

They come out as text and lose their grid. PDF to Excel keeps rows and columns.

Which encoding? +

UTF-8, so Cyrillic and accented characters survive.

Is the document a contract?

The same file can be read against six criteria — clarity, risk protection, enforceability, balance of terms, structure and overall exposure — free and without an account.

Need to do more than one thing to this document?

Open it in the document workspace instead: upload once, then reorder, rotate, delete, merge and compress without sending the file again.
