The Freelancer shall make revisions until the Client is satisfied with the deliverables.

What is wrong with it

Unlimited revisions with a subjective test and no deadline for approval, so the project has no defined end.

Why it matters

The effective hourly rate falls with every round, and payment tied to acceptance means an unsatisfied client can hold both the work and the fee indefinitely.

Wording that fixes it

The Freelancer shall provide up to two (2) rounds of revisions within the agreed scope. Further revisions are billed at the hourly rate set out in Schedule A. Deliverables are deemed accepted if the Client does not provide written comments within seven (7) business days of delivery.

What is a kill fee and how much should it be? +

It is what the client pays if they cancel after work has started. There is no fixed convention; a common shape is all work completed to date plus a percentage of the remaining fee, and the important thing is that the contract names a number rather than leaving it to goodwill.

Can I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio? +

Only if the contract says so. A full IP assignment plus a confidentiality clause can leave you unable to show or even mention the work. A short carve-out permitting portfolio use after launch solves it.

Should I sign a contract with no payment schedule? +

No. A deposit and milestone payments are what stop a project from turning into unpaid work, and they are also the clearest early signal of how a client will behave later.
